Broken Pieces by Riley Hart

Broken Pieces
by Riley Hart

Can three broken pieces make a whole?

Josiah Evans is the orphan who lost both his parents. He’s sweet, shy, and all heart. He wants nothing more than to be loved.

Mateo Sanchez is the son of a gang leader. He’s seen it all, and never hesitates to do what needs to be done, no matter what it is.

Tristan Croft is the wealthy attorney who clawed his way up from the bottom to rule his own world. He’ll never depend on anyone but himself again.

Three men who couldn’t be more different…and yet, as their lives intersect they find an uncommon balance that calms the storms inside each of them, and ignites fires hotter than they ever thought imaginable.

Told uniquely in three parts and spanning over ten years, BROKEN PIECES is a journey of healing for three fragmented souls, finding love in the unlikeliest of places—with each other

This book completely gutted me. I don't think I really had a dry eye through the entire thing.

Don't get me wrong, it is a BEAUTIFUL story! There were happy tears and sad tears.

It's what i would call a "beautiful mess". The first half of the book just shattered me, especially at the end. To have to give up the one you love to save them, to me i the ultimate act of love.

Without this happening, i don't think Jay would have become who he needed to be. Teo sheltered him to protect him, and that isn't what he needed. Jay may have been strong on the inside, but he needed to match on the outside as well.

Enter Tristan. He gave Jay that missing piece that he needed, to be stronger on the outside and hell, even a bit more on the inside. And in return Jay did the same for Tristan, he made Tri feel like he could be loved for the first time in his life. With Jay and Teo at Tristan's back, he was finally able to let go of his past and open himself up to be loved.

Watching them grow has been amazing, devastating, but amazing. They each had a piece to give to one another, to complete each other. Their sad stories equaling one happy one.

I can't wait to see these amazing men grow into more in the next book. I think what Teo i going to be doing is going to be beautiful, and i am very excited for them to finally get some "happy" in their lives.

Hands down a 5 tear filled stars

Riley Hart has nailed it again!  Hard to believe this is her second published book, this book is simply AMAZING!  The telling of the story in different POV’s was the BEST.  I loved everything about this story, the protectiveness of it, the anguish of it and the pure beauty of first love.  We start with Mateo “Teo” Sanchez and Josiah Evans and then eventually Tristan Croft is folded into the mix.  The book spans 9 anguish filled years.  I found myself engulfed into this story, I literally could not put it down once I started.  These 3 broken men so drawn to each other, yet all 3 so torn apart with their past mistakes.
Josiah, orphaned at a very young age finds love and protection with fellow roommate Mateo.
Mateo, brought up as the son of lethal gang leader, he finally founds peace in the arms of Josiah.
Tristan, sold his soul to the devil to make a better life for his mother and himself.

The story told as separate couples then as a triad, is beautifully written, Riley Hart has become an auto buy on my account.  Looking forward to the next chapters in their lives in Book 2 coming in late 2014.

I give Broken Pieces 5 Broken Hearts
