An accidental meeting and a misunderstanding lead to a life-altering connection.

A new job, a new city, and hopefully a new life. When chubby gamer Oliver Barnaby receives a job offer from the best boutique game developer in the country, he leaves his family and his less than spectacular existence in Oklahoma without a second’s hesitation. Determined to change more than his career and his geography, Oliver implements a plan to finally land a boyfriend. Step one is improving his skills in the bedroom.

A life that looks perfect on paper, but feels empty in reality. Attractive, successful, charismatic Jaime Snow has a life other people envy. His already booming business is growing. He isn’t lacking in friends. And he has no trouble finding a date. But there’s an emptiness in Jaime’s heart and a hole in his life that only the right man can fill.

An accidental meeting, a misunderstanding, and falling in love. When Oliver and Jaime end up at the same bar at the same time, they each see something they want in the other. Going to bed together that first night is easy. Building the lifetime relationship they both desperately crave will require trust, time, and a little misunderstanding.

“It’s the twenty-ninth. Halloween is on a Monday. And you didn’t say people were dressing up. Is It going to be weird that I’m in normal clothes?” “

“I’m not wearing a costume either. You’ll be fine”, Jamie assured him. “And when Halloween falls on a weekday, the Saturday before stands in for party purposes. That’s a well-established rule.”

“Who established it?”

“The party police”, Jamie answered, deadpan.

“So now you’re saying I don’t know basic party laws? What if the party police arrest me? The safest thing for me to do is pass on the whole thing and maintain my criminal free history.”

“Not showing up when you’ve already RSVP’d is a felony-level party crime. If you’re worried about doing time, skipping out is definitely not the way to go.” Jamie played along. Damn him for being so likable.

“That’s just it. I don’t want to do part time”, Oliver whined. “I don’t know how I let you talk me into this.”

“The sex addled your brain, Happens to the best of us.”

“It was really great sex,” Oliver agreed.

Our MC, Oliver Barnaby, is not your likely hero, and that is exactly why I loved him. 6' 2", Weighing in at almost 300#, awkward game developer and gamer, Oliver has trouble meeting new people. He's decided since he has a new job and is in a new city, he's going G to make some changes for himself.
His self-esteem is pretty low since his last boyfriend, he thinks he needs lessons in the bedroom.
He sees an ad and decides to hire an escort to help him with his lack of experience. What he gets instead is something he never would have imagined.

While Jamie is waiting for his friends at a bar called "The Bookstore" he sees a man that interests him greatly. On top of which, the man is reading a coding that Jamie himself wrote, Nd reading it in a bar no less. This tickles Jamie, so he decides he must meet this man. When he walks up to talk to Oliver though, he's met with a bit of a shock. Oliver thinks he's the escort.

That first scene had me all like "oh nooo! and then smacking my forehead. I thought Oliver was going to make a fool of himself. Jamie took it all in stride and was highly amused and charmed by him, that he played along with him, so that he could get to know this interesting creature better.
I loved the banter between these two. I found myself laughing quite a few times. It's also the kind of story you've come to love about CC. That sweet, charming, gives me the "aww" feels. She's where I come to when I need to satisfy my sweet tooth, and she doesn't let me down.

I give the story 3.75 socially awkward stars

Synopsis A bounty hunter’s partners to lovers’ story. The hunt is on… and he’s the prey.

Bradford (Ford) King was sure he had the rest of his life mapped out. Though he was no longer a SEAL Lieutenant, his brother was home safe and he had a job that still allowed him to satisfy his hunger for hunting bad guys. Life was simple, no distractions or complications – at age forty-six – that’s all Ford wanted. What hedidn’twant was his work partner, sniper/watchman, Dana, giving him s**t all the time.
