Virtual Blog Tour & Giveaway ~ Kinky Sprinkles by L.A. Witt

Welcome to the Riptide Publishing/L. A. Witt blog tour for Kinky Sprinkles!

Every comment on this blog tour enters you in a drawing for a choice of two eBooks off my backlist (excluding Kinky Sprinkles) and a $10 Riptide Publishing store credit. Entries close at midnight, Eastern time, on October 1st.  Contest is NOT restricted to U.S. entries. Don’t forget to leave your contact info, and thanks for following the tour!

About L.A. Witt

L.A. Witt is an abnormal M/M romance writer who has finally been released from the purgatorial corn maze of Omaha, Nebraska, and now spends her time on the southwestern coast of Spain. In between wondering how she didn’t lose her mind in Omaha, she explores the country with her husband, several clairvoyant hamsters, and an ever-growing herd of rabid plot bunnies. She also has substantially more time on her hands these days, as she has recruited a small army of mercenaries to search South America for her nemesis, romance author Lauren Gallagher, but don’t tell Lauren. And definitely don’t tell Lori A. Witt or Ann Gallagher. Neither of those twits can keep their mouths shut…

L. A.’s backlist is available on her website, and updates (as well as random thoughts and the odd snarky comment) can be found on her blog or on Twitter (@GallagherWitt).

Kinky Sprinkles Blurb:

Joel has finally walked away from his abusive ex and is ready to meet new people. But that isn’t easy for a guy who’s shy, self-conscious, and struggling with his body image.

Andre has wanted Joel since the first time he laid eyes on him, and finally Joel is single. But Andre is a Dom and a sadist, and Joel is unapologetically vanilla. There’s no happy medium—either Andre reins in the kinky side that took him years to accept, or Joel grits his teeth and subjects himself to kinks that aren’t his thing. No matter who bends, someone’s going to be unhappy.

They agree to walk away, but they keep circling back to each other. Though their kinks might not line up, the chemistry between them sizzles and the emotional connection keeps getting deeper. But none of that will get them anywhere if they can’t find some kind of middle ground in the bedroom.

Kinky Sprinkles is available September 26th from Riptide Publishing.

AboutTheBook

goj-cover-600
TITLE: The God of Jazz: Fugue, Concord

AUTHOR: Varian Krylov

COVER ARTIST: Bey Deckard

LENGTH: 117,450 words

RELEASE DATE: September 16, 2016

BLURB: After years struggling to realize his dream of directing a feature film, on the final night of his fundraising campaign Godard is on the cusp of having everything he ever wanted. The man he loves is upstairs waiting for him, and he's just a few dollars short of his GoFundYourself goal.

Then everything falls apart.

His personal and professional life in ruins, when his old nemesis from film school offers to fund his dream project if he's willing to shoot it in Spain, Godard knows it's a deal with the devil. But he also has nothing left to lose.

Among the labyrinthine streets of Barcelona's Barrio Góthico, the city's vibrant music scene, and the sun-gilt beaches of the Costa Brava, Godard begins making shooting his dream project and putting his life back together, largely under the domineering gaze and deft touch of Ángel, the god of jazz.

But Ángel is keeping a secret, and a deal with the devil always comes at a price.

Excerpt

Bienvenidos...” After a glance back at his band mates, the trumpet player fixed his intense gaze on the audience and welcomed us in a low, smoky voice. Almost instantly the crowd went quiet, like everyone there was desperate not to miss a syllable. Of course, the remaining crumbs of my high school education in Spanish didn't get me past the first word, except I did catch their names as he introduced his bandmates. Jaume on the drums. Alistair on bass.

The stunner with the trumpet and the arresting eyes that were the color of Amaretto di Saronno in the sun, but almost black in the hard shadow cast by the spotlight hitting his striking, upward angled eyebrows, was Ángel. He shot a glance at the drummer, who set a rhythm, brushes hissing over the heads. The low thrum of the bass came in as an electric smile spread over Alistair's handsome face. The tempo of the music echoed faintly in Ángel's subtly swaying body for a few measures as he let the music lull us out of the hectic pace of our day, the frenetic energy of the crowd that had been bantering and calling for drinks and jockeying for places to sit or stand, into the soothing rhythm. Then he brought the horn to his lips and kissed our souls.

Sultry, thick and sweet, tinges of melancholy. The notes stretched and yawned, curled around us like smoke. Slipped into the gaps in our broken, rusted armor and soothed our wounds.

I felt almost ashamed, in the midst of that transcendental rapture, that I couldn't look at Ángel without conjuring the memory of his naked body, lax and faintly sheened with sweat as his broad shoulders flexed when he'd shifted his weight. The taunting temptation of his bare ass. Impossible to stop trying to imagine what he would look like, standing alone on that stage, under those lights, looking down at me, naked. Picturing his cock hanging, limp. Wondering if, when hard, it would stand up straight, jut off at an angle, or stick out from his groin.

At some point I had stopped looking at the other two sharing his stage, and just stared at him. The slight inward slope of his narrow nose. The delicate bow shape of his upper lip, slightly prominent, overshadowing his narrower bottom lip. Wanting him, almost willing him to turn those intense eyes on me again. Would it feel like a touch, the way it had at the beach? Was he caressing every man and woman in the bar with that gaze? Were they all secretly quivering and warming under his stare?

Growing up near Los Angeles, I spent much of my time frolicking in the Pacific Ocean and penning angst-twisted poetry. Now I'm living in sunny Spain writing pathos-riddled fiction. Ironically, two of my favorite things are traveling, and swimming in the ocean, despite increasingly intense phobias of sharks and flying.

I've always loved the music and substance of words, always loved writing in well-worn notebooks by hand, tapping at the keys of the computer, and, of course, conjuring up stories.

And from my earliest memories, I've always been fascinated—maybe obsessed?—with sex and sexuality.

In my writing, sex is the medium, the expression, and the tool of discovery for my characters' insecurities, the needs that drive them, the comfort they can't live without, the joy and relish of life that makes each of them intense, strange, and alluring.

The ugliest truths blossom into the prettiest lies.

A year into the relationship with Domenico, Seth still wants him as desperately as ever. Nothing is better than being intoxicated with lust for his deadly man and feeling his steady hands all over.

No matter the misunderstandings, the fights... The crash. The burn.

Crossing the Mexican border has been a goal for Seth and Domenico for a few months, but the trip couldn’t have ended in more of a disaster. While Domenico is stuck at home, for Seth each passing day becomes more difficult. Desperate to keep his family afloat, he accepts a job offer from Los Sepultureros. The Gravediggers.

When Domenico’s need for control starts eroding their trust, Seth is sure their love can conquer all. But when Domenico rips open the wound left after the violence at the beginning of their relationship, it gushes blood all over their cozy lies and this time, there may be no way to seal it.

I needed this book to happen, and I didn't even really know i needed it to.
So much has happened between book 1 and this book, that you almost forget how they started....almost.

This book was like a confession, absolving them of their sins. They needed to deal with the past and let it go to start over again...as it *should* have been.

"The two of them belonged together like sin and confession'

- The ugliest truths blossom into the pretties lies-
That says it all. Ugly truths, the lies to cover it up. Lies to protect the other. They all become a tangled mess.

While these lies are being sorted through, things get pretty ugly. My heart broke for them. First for Dom and then for Seth. I don't think I have ever really cried in this series. Edge of my seat, yes, and a lot of worry, but never any actual tears. This book I was gasping like a fish as my heart broke for them. Of course there are still explosions, and lots of blood, what kind of adventure would it be if there wasn't?? But there is a lot of personal growth for the both of them as well. Even for Mark, who is all too eager to prove he is ready.

Dom also has a few "human' moments. Moments to show he is in fact just a man. My favorite one is the fly in the room. I too have had thoughts like this, so i think it really connects the character to the reader even more.

Dom has this moment, not if the life he had already, but of a future. A future he wants but doesn't think they will see. It is the sweetest thing. When he gets the chance, he starts taking steps into that direction to get things right with Seth, his family, and God, so that one day they can have that future, but based off a beginning without hatred, jealousy, and violence.

The book runs parallel to One Step Too Close. If you all were paying attention to where Dana was sent and what she has to do, you'll notice from Dom's conversations with her, that she hasn't yet met who she does at the end of OSTC. I am still very curious as to how that will play out and what will happen in the next book when Dom and Miquel ((his new "friend" in Mexico)) take a trip to Colombia. Will Seth be left to take care of Mark? Or will he refuse and go along. It's all still very mysterious and I am so excited to get more of their story. One thing that also makes me happy is that even though Seth is in the middle of all this violence and maybe a little hardened, he's still the sweet man that wants to have a food blog. He's so very endearing.

Until next time, i give it 5 forgiving stars

Cover Reveal & Giveaway ~ On Fire by Alicia Nordwell

I want to share a big thank you to my host for featuring the cover reveal today for my latest Dreamspinner Press release, On Fire, made by Garrett Leigh. Without further ado...

A fun tidbit: I actually took the picture of the mountain (it was not on fire at the time, lol)

A picture is definitely worth a thousand words when it comes to a cover, and these guys are hot, but I bet you'd like to know more about their story, so here goes!

Blurb:
Nothing beats getting out of the concrete jungle and into the quiet of the forest. Website designer Scottie Ness is taking a well-deserved vacation from the grindstone, and he plans to spend it in the solitude of Washington’s Gifford Pinchot National Forest around Mt. Adams. He’s prepared for everything—except the lightning storm that traps him in a wildfire.

The firefighter who rescues him sustains serious injuries and ends up in the hospital. Jax Quintero might be abrasive, but the guy saved his life, and Scottie wants to thank him. As they spend time together during Jax’s recovery and exploring the state’s landmarks when he’s released from the hospital, Scottie discovers there’s more to Jax than a smart-ass adrenaline junkie. Jax reassesses his opinion of Scottie as an arrogant city boy who has no business in the mountains. Though Jax’s wounds prevent them from taking things as far as they’d like for a while, they can’t deny the heat building between them—and this is one fire they don’t want to put out.

Where can you pick up your copy?
On Fire is available for pre-order at Dreamspinner Press now!

Contest!!
Because I love my fellow readaholics, I'm giving away a $5 gift card to Dreamspinner Press to celebrate finally being able to share On Fire's awesome cover and my photo inspiration for Jax and Scottie.

About the Author:
The number one question folks ask Alicia when she shares she's a MM romance author: "Why gay fiction? Why write men when you're a woman?" and her answer is: "Why the hell not!" Alicia Nordwell is one of those not so rare creatures, a reader turned writer. Striving to find an interesting story one day, she decided to write what she wanted instead. Then the voices started... Yep, not only does she talk about herself in the third person for bios, she has voices in her head constantly clamoring to get out.

Fortunately, with the encouragement of her family and friends, she decided for her own sanity to keep writing. Now you can find her stories both free and e-published. When she’s not on the computer typing away, she's a wife and a mom of two in the dreary, yet ideal for her redhead complexion, Pacific Northwest. Except for when she disappears into one of the many worlds in her head, of course!

She can also be found quite often at her blog, where she has a lot of free fiction for readers to enjoy or working hard, or maybe hardly working, as an admin on GayAuthors.org under her online nickname, Cia.

Blog Tour & Review ~ That Darn Muse, Vol. 2 by Dan Skinner

Blurb

He's a middle-aged, newly single, gay photographer starting life over. Along comes a freshly out nineteen-year-old, irreverent free spirit who wants to be his apprentice. Mismatched by more than a generation, what could possibly go wrong? Everything! And it's AWESOME!
A "Muse" ing: Most authors struggle with the voices or "muses" in their head when writing. Tuning that voice out becomes a little more challenging when your muse is a real-life nineteen-year-old who inhales espresso and turns out ideas at light speed. Danger Will Robinson!

Daddy and The Rent Boy: In selling something, advertising is half the battle. That can become hazardous when you're in the company of an irreverent walking billboard.

Review:

These little episodes make me so happy that someone like Dirk really exists and can inspire such stories. He sounds like a real handful at times and good on Doc for being able to, what it seems like, take it all in stride. I like that Doc is such a great mentor/teacher and that Dirk is able to give back by his random thoughts. These two make a great team, it seems and I enjoy getting to read about it.

Doc Savage!!! That is so funny!!!! And those shirts! I wouldn't be embarrassed by them, though I can see how a mother would be. Grandmama seems like my kinda lady too, with her "the largest large glass" haha

The beginning of the story is a recap of episode 1, which kind of reminds me when you watch a show, mainly superhero ones, how they recap you on the previous episode. I'm just sad that they're this short. Once you get going you wanna keep going, but it's also kind of fun waiting for the next one and what Dirk will do or say next and what next project will unfold from Doc from these musings :)
4.5*

I am so torn about these episodes! I truly love the story, but I want more as soon as I finish!!!!
Dirk and his family are amazing! I think that I could really learn a lot as a mother from his Mom and Grandma..lol
I love how patient Doc is with Dirk and all his quirks, like no bath time privacy or no shame of just knocking one out when the mood hits Dirk and don’t even get me started on his amazing t-shirt designs. I also would give anything to watch the video that Dirk and his college buddy shot on their road trip, I bet Dirk gives the best commentary EVER!!!
I again sit here and wait for Episode 3 so I can get more Doc and Dirk amazingness. Please hurry!!!

I give this Episode 4.5 stars

Blurb

‘Guns n’ Boys’ is a twisted, dark erotic romance mixed with a crime thriller. It’s a long, turbulent journey of one couple deeply entrenched in the dealings of their mafia family. Behind the morbid humor and extreme violence hides the intense love affair of Domenico Acerbi, the mafia’s best hitman, and Seth Villani, the Don’s son.

Together, they have to deal with their blooming affection for each other, their family’s homophobia, their own prejudice, lust, jealousy, and violence. In true anti-hero fashion, they do so in most morally ambiguous ways.

Virtual Tour & Giveaway ~ Counterbalance by Aidan Wayne

About Counterbalance

John loves his job as head rigger for Cirque Brilliance. The heavy scarring over half his face makes it a little hard to meet new people, but John's got a good crew and a nice found family, and he’s content with his lot in life.

When Cirque hires talent for a new show, John meets Bao, a bright, ever-cheerful acrobat. Bao seems drawn to John and becomes a constant presence at his side—talking to him during downtime, spending time with him at lunch, and generally seeking out his company.

John doesn't know what to make of this. Sure, he likes Bao—maybe a little too much, honestly—but he’s had enough experience to know that Bao couldn’t possibly like him back. Or so he thinks, anyway. Fortunately, Bao seems determined to prove him wrong.

About Aidan Wayne

Aidan Wayne is a big believer in character-driven stories with happy endings. This is not to say that stories can’t contain a little (or a lot) of grief, just that at the end of it all expect there to be bandages and hugs. They particularly like to write about minority characters because damn it, they deserve happy endings too.

When not writing, Aidan enjoys practicing aerial, martial arts, and ASL, and watching reality cooking shows. They are probably in the middle of twelve projects as you read this.

Virtual Blog Tour & Giveaway ~ Rented Heart by Garrett Leigh

About Rented Heart

Ex-surfer-turned-businessman Liam Mallaney moved back to Holkham, Norfolk, to mourn the loss of his husband. Grief and loneliness keep him a solitary figure, and he likes it that way. There’s no room in his broken heart for anything else.

Rentboy Zac Payne left London and most of his demons behind, but he still only knows one way to make a living. When he spots Liam in a club one night, it seems he’s found his mark. But Liam proves nicer—and their connection far deeper—than he’d bargained for.

Their arrangement quickly becomes too complicated for Zac, who has other things on his mind: namely his BFF and wayward flatmate, Jamie. Zac owes Jamie the world, and even as Jamie’s drug addiction destroys all they have, Zac won’t leave him behind.

Besides, Liam knows nothing of Zac’s home life, too caught up in his own head to think much beyond the crazy heat he and Zac share. But when trouble comes to Zac’s door, putting his life in danger, Liam must set his grief and anger aside to pick up the pieces of Zac’s shattered heart and his own.

Oh what a heartwarming book. This is about Liam, a man who lost his husband and businesses partner in an accident, and Zac, a young man that has been a rent boy since he was a teen. They both live two totally different lives, but in the end they are both looking for the same thing.

Zac “markes” a drunken Liam one night at gay club in the area. He takes him to his flat, which is a first for him, and Liam gets what he paid for. After that night each man can’t seem to get the other out of their minds. There is more of a need of companionship for Liam and Zac isn't that trusting that that's all that Liam wants.

Zac’s roommate, best friend and fellow rent boy, Jamie is not as clean and sober as Zac. He actually has quite a bad problem. He brings his problem home and Zac is not to keen on it and he and Jamie have a horrible fight and well, things just kinda go south from there, not only for Zac and Jamie, but also Zac and Liam.

In the end Jamie helps to bring Zac and Liam back together, and also finds himself in a place to get his life together.

All in all this was a really sweet read, with a pretty high heat factor. And as far as the angst factor, for me it was pretty low.

I give this book 4 Sweet, Shining Stars.
