Buy Links: Amazon US | Amazon UK

Length: 32,000 words approx.

Cover Design: Dar Albert @ Wicked Smart Designs

Blurb

Former stepbrothers find Christmas romance under the tree.

After years alone, Daniel Diaz is finally ready to shake up his orderly, solitary life. He's about to leave for a cozy Christmas getaway with his new man when he gets the call from the ER that his former stepbrother has been admitted with a concussion and a broken hand—and Cole put him down as his emergency contact. Why the hell would he do that? Daniel barely knows the guy. After all, their parents' marriage lasted less than a year and it was a decade ago!

But Cole has no one else to look after him and strict doctor's orders not to be left alone. So fine, Daniel will bring him along on vacation to make sure he doesn't starve or fall into a coma. This is supposed to be Daniel's chance to explore romance again after locking down his feelings for too long—except it turns out his could-be boyfriend is more interested in partying and being an obnoxious jerk. Daniel sends him packing, and now he's stuck with a virtual stranger in an isolated mountain cabin.

Cole Smith crushed hard on cranky Daniel when they were teenagers. Alone with him in a romantic winter wonderland, those feelings roar back to life. Glimpsing the caring, vulnerable man under Daniel's frosty shell, he yearns to get closer. Christmas is a time for surprises, and Daniel and Cole discover a scorching connection that just might melt their hearts.

This fluffy gay Christmas romance from Keira Andrews features former stepbrothers reconnecting as adults, sexy hot-tub shenanigans, cuddling by the fire, and of course a happy ending.

Author Bio

After writing for years yet never really finding the right inspiration, Keira discovered her voice in gay romance, which has become a passion. She writes contemporary, historical, fantasy, and paranormal fiction and — although she loves delicious angst along the way — Keira firmly believes in happy endings. For as Oscar Wilde once said:

“The good ended happily, and the bad unhappily. That is what fiction means.”

VBT & Giveaway ~ The Remaking of Corbin Wale by Roan Parrish

About The Remaking of Corbin Wale

Last month, Alex Barrow’s whole life imploded—partner, home, job, all gone in forty-eight hours. But sometimes when everything falls apart, better things appear almost like magic. Now, he’s back in his Michigan hometown, finally opening the bakery he’s always dreamed of. But the pleasure of opening day is nothing compared to the lonely and beautiful man who bewitches Alex before he even orders.

Corbin Wale is a weirdo. At least, that’s what he’s heard his whole life. He knows he’s often in a fantasy world, but the things he feels are very real. And so is the reason why he can never, ever be with Alex Barrow. Even if Alex is everything he’s always fantasized about. Even if maybe, just maybe, Corbin is Alex’s fantasy too.

When Corbin begins working at the bakery, he and Alex can’t deny their connection any longer. As the holiday season works its magic, Alex yearns for the man who seems out of reach. But to be with Alex, Corbin will have to challenge every truth he’s ever known. If his holiday risk pays off, two men from different worlds will get the love they’ve always longed for.

Blog Tour & Giveaway - Counting on You by Kelly Jensen

Counting on You

Henry and Marc can’t seem to catch a break. They’ve had two disastrous dates—the first trapped in a car during a blizzard and the second locked in a basement—followed by nearly two months apart. Even though they work for the same firm, their relationship is held together by flying visits, phone calls, and text messages. A joint assignment in Washington D.C. might be more togetherness than they can handle, however.
Henry is still battling insecurity, and this assignment is too important to his career to mess up. Marc is committed. He’s falling for Henry and looks forward to having him permanently on his team and at his side. But the real test isn’t the assignment. When Marc finally lays his heart on the line, can he count on Henry to be there for him, in every way that matters? And can he do the same for Henry when Henry needs it the most?

Bio

If aliens ever do land on Earth, Kelly will not be prepared, despite having read over a hundred stories of the apocalypse. Still, she will pack her precious books into a box and carry them with her as she strives to survive. It’s what bibliophiles do.

Kelly is the author of a number of novels, novellas and short stories, including the Chaos Station series, co-written with Jenn Burke. Some of what she writes is speculative in nature, but mostly it’s just about a guy losing his socks and/or burning dinner. Because life isn’t all conquering aliens and mountain peaks. Sometimes finding a happy ever after is all the adventure we need.

Short Stories

I adore short stories. Back when I reviewed professionally (for a European SF&F magazine), I was the one who got all the magazine and anthology requests because my editor knew how much I loved the short story format, and how much I liked delving through collections. So it was probably no surprise that my first forays into fiction were short stories and novellas.

Like many writers, I have an email folder full of rejection letters from the SF&F magazines that didn’t want to publish those early efforts, and it wasn’t until I switched to romance (combined with a little SF) that I saw my first story in print. It had aliens and a geeky girl and a sweet love story all rolled into one tangled little ball and I loved it. Not many other people did, but publishing your first piece of fiction is a rite of passage, no matter how it’s received. You learn a lot and what I learned was that I’ll probably never write the sorts of stories that have wide appeal. I’m a little too weird. I like aliens and spaceships and I want people to fall in love while they’re exploring the stars.

Thankfully, for me and my readers, I also like reading and writing stories about ordinary people doing pretty ordinary things, which is what the Counting series is all about. Henry and Marc are accountants. Most folks think accountants are pretty boring and some might struggle to understand why anyone would consider such a profession interesting. I wonder about dentists and proctologists. And the feet people, whatever they’re called. I… don’t like feet. Feet are weird. I think accounting is fascinating. I studied accountancy for a year (at night school) and loved both contract law and tax law. My math skills are what let me down and convinced me to stick with what I was doing at the time, which was more marketing focused. You know, writing and stuff. ;)

Henry and Marc are far from boring. Both are very driven individuals and I infused them with my love for numbers and order. And though their collected stories are short, I invested a lot of time building their characters, from backstory to hopes and dreams, with the hope they’d leap from these small adventures, inviting you to continue the journey with them.

One of the things a short story requires is a definite format. You have fewer words to play with, so you can’t wander too far off course. I see it as a puzzle of a sort. There’s a definite beginning and ending, even if the story is only a slice of a larger adventure. For the Counting stories, I had a definite frame for the first two: Henry and Marc were going to get stuck somewhere. This would give them time to not only get to know each other—mostly through conversation—but for other sorts of barriers to fall. For them to open up and become a little “unstuck” mentally and emotionally. Only then would they find their way out of their predicament.

In the third and final novella, Counting on You, I wanted to continue the stuck theme without locking the guys anywhere, so I went with mental and emotional sticking points and had the guys “act” to become unstuck. A flip on my original formula and I think it works well for this story, which is about ten thousand words longer and quite a bit more involved than the first two.

In addition to the three novellas in the Counting series, I also wrote two short stories. I’ve mentioned how much I love short stories, right? All though both of these are super short—5000 words each or there about—I still took the time to create a frame for each. “Counting Stars” covers the dinner invitation issued by Henry at the end of Counting Fence Posts (Counting #1). He takes Marc home for Christmas and it’s sweet and awkward, and… sweet. “Counting Stars” serves as both an epilogue and a teaser for Counting Down (Counting #2) as Marc asks Henry out on an actual date at the end.

“Counting the Days” is set between the second and third novellas and again serves as connective tissue. This one is a collection of text messages between the guys as they travel in opposite directions. They’re often random and silly, but as the exchange progresses from day to day, their discussion and relationship deepen until they admit they’re counting the days until they can see each other again.

You can read both of my short stories, “Counting Stars” and “Counting the Days,” for free at my website. Go to https://kellyjensenwrites.com/books/the-counting-series/ and scroll down to Excerpts and Extras. Both stories were released to newsletter subscribers first. And if you’re new to the Counting series, the first two novellas are discounted through the end of November at all retailers, making this a great time to get stuck with Henry and Marc.

Excerpt:

Chapter Four
A warm fire crackled close to Pip’s head, and he woke with a start. He rolled back as his eyes focused. A fire burned in a carefully dug pit in the center of the room. Hearthstones surrounded it. Pip lay on what appeared to be a bed, much larger than any back home. A framework of wood, the center piled high with soft fur pelts, the bed dominated the room. Next to him, a dozing wolf-dog lifted its head lazily, looked at him with amber eyes, then dropped its head back onto the furs. A second lay curled at the end of the bed and didn’t wake when Pip stirred.

What the hell was going on?

The animal at Pip’s side rolled over, exposing his belly and pressing up against him. Pip decided they must be dogs, and exceptionally well-trained ones at that, as he recalled their behavior when they’d found him bound to a tree. He ran his hands through the animal’s coarse, thick fur. Its tongue lolled from the side of his mouth, and it panted happily as Pip scratched his stomach.

Wherever this place was, it wasn’t home. Nothing like.

A pelt hung over the entrance to the room in place of a door, and the walls were a rustic makeshift combination of exposed logs and a type of plaster. The room contained very little furniture, apart from the bed. A rickety shelf held some used copper cookware and a few ancient-looking dishes. It was as if this were a temporary camp with no evidence of commodities, no overhead lighting, no electricity, no… no nothing.

Despite how very strange and basic it appeared, it felt warm and cozy, with a homey familiar scent about it.

Pip settled back onto the bed and nestled against the wolf-like dog, finding strange comfort in being so close to such a strong animal.

“Where did the rest of you go?” Pip asked as he stroked its belly. “There were so many of you before.”

“They came with me.” The voice from the doorway made Pip’s heart skip a beat.

He lifted his head. The man who rescued him came through the doorway carrying a bag over his shoulder, his antlers gone and skin free of anything that resembled bark. Free of anything at all, actually.

He stood near the fire pit completely naked.

The rest of the dogs trailed in after him; some of them climbed into bed with Pip, others settled across the room, creating a comfortable-looking pile of warm animal fur. The temperature in the room rose by many degrees, quickly. It must’ve surely been from the warmth of all those bodies.

Not only was the man naked, but gorgeous, too. Pip pulled one of the fur pelts over his lap, hoping to conceal his reaction to the man’s presence.

Virtual Blog Tour, Giveaway & Excerpt- Came Upon a Midnight Clear by Katie Porter + 2017 Holiday Charity Collection

About Came Upon a Midnight Clear

Up-and-coming film producer Kyle Wakefield lives in the closet rather than risk the wrath of his influential, conservative parents. The only time he took a chance on love was a tempestuous teenage affair with Nathan Carnes. But when Nathan proved himself hell-bent on self-destruction and wound up in prison, Kyle closed off his heart.

Almost a decade later, Kyle’s production partner hires Nathan’s stunt company, Second Chances, to work on a big-budget action film in London. Nate is floored by his explosive reunion with Kyle. But he sure as hell isn’t surprised that Kyle still treats their mutual needs—and Nate—like dirty little secrets.

As the London holiday season casts its dazzling spell, the two men find themselves falling in love again. Kyle is one breathless kiss away from declaring himself to Nate—and to the world—but they cannot ignore secrets borne of youthful mistakes. To protect their bright new future, Kyle and Nathan will need all their passion and trust . . . and a little Christmas magic.

Publisher's note: This is a lightly edited reprint of a previously published novel.

Exclusive Excerpt

He ducked into the bathroom and turned on the shower. Water pattered down, filling the small room with white noise. Steam rolled out as the water heated.

Being near Kyle was like mainlining heroin. That potency drove straight to Nate’s veins. He’d get a wild shock, followed by drowsy afterglow. The pain came with the withdrawal. How much worse would it be this time? Even if he wanted an affair with Kyle to last beyond London, Nate couldn’t trust who they’d be together. The golden boy in the closet and the ex-con in the shadows, waiting, never really knowing which life Kyle would choose.

Nate couldn’t live that way.

He stepped into the shower, drawing shut the curtain. Hell, the fact that he was about to shower in Kyle’s room instead of his own made no fucking sense—except that fear of withdrawal. He might not be ready to crawl back into bed with the man, but he didn’t seem ready to leave either.
Scrubbing both hands down his face, he ducked his head under the stream. Near-scalding water stung his skin.

Still, there was no mistaking the sound of the door opening, nor the quiet sounds of Kyle getting cleaned up.

The curtain moved aside. Kyle’s mouth was curved in a smile, but his dark eyes were shadowed. Maybe hesitant.

“Room for two?”

Nate tugged him in by the wrist. “Of course.”

“Kind of cramped.”

It was, in the best kind of way. The shower wasn’t built for two grown men, but that meant plenty of slipping and sliding against each other. Nate’s dick brushed over the rough texture of Kyle’s outer thigh as they traded positions. Kyle ducked under the water with a sound of pleasure that went straight to Nate’s head. Then way lower.

On a ledge was a small glass bottle of expensive-looking body wash. Only the best for Kyle, but the scent alone seemed worth it. Lively and clean, the gel smelled like woods and crisp leaves.
He lathered up, letting his hands run slowly over his stomach and chest. Kyle watched, and Nate liked that too much to say. His cock stirred lazily. He was surprised they both weren’t rubbed raw considering how hard they’d gone.

“Got any plans for the day?”

Kyle briskly washed his own body. “Paperwork. I’ve got to go through a giant stack Steph left for me.”

“So fun. And on a Sunday, no less.”

His grin was sudden but bright. “It is, kind of. It’s all about making my production company the best on the block.”

Nate shook his head and traded places to rinse. “I never, ever would have guessed you’d end up in Hollywood.”

“No?” Kyle rinsed off fast, then bracketed Nate with hands on the tile walls. “Not even a clue?”
His hands found a resting place on Kyle’s firm waist. His thumbs made tiny strokes over the sharp V-line that arrowed downward. “I thought you were going into finance like your dad.”

“Running hedge funds? No way.” Kyle chuckled. “I always said that was the last thing I’d do. You didn’t believe me?”

Nate didn’t answer. He couldn’t. Yeah, Kyle had always said that, but he’d also talked about coming out. Eventually. Once he was free of his parents. And look how well that went.

“You were always damn good with numbers,” Nate said, sidestepping the issue. “You got me through pre-calc.”

“Nah, once you got stubborn, you had it made.” Kyle nuzzled his shoulder, wet on wet. “But all those hours we spent watching movies. Everything. Every kind of movie. All the genres. It was practically training.”

Nate remembered those hours. Thousands of them, spent in Kyle’s larger dorm room at the boarding school. They’d always gone to Kyle’s room because his rich parents paid to make sure he didn’t have a roommate. Most times, they’d spent their hours wrapped up on the couch, free to get as grabby as they liked.

Nate had lived for lying with his head in Kyle’s lap. Nothing in his life had been easy, starting with growing up without a mom. First she’d been an alcoholic, then she’d been . . . gone. His dad had done the best he could, filling out a hundred grant applications so Nate would have a better option than the slums of DC. But ultimately he was a trucker on the road more than three hundred days a year. Nothing had been easy for Nate, except for curling into Kyle and hoping for more—more than a kid like him could ever have.

Being with Kyle had made that sort of dreaming possible.

But all he said was, “I remember.”

Kyle’s grin spread with endearing enthusiasm. “We practically went to film school together.”
“If you wanna put it that way.” He ran his hands up Kyle’s firm sides, let his thumbs slide over flat nipples that quickly beaded. “But if we’re talking percentage of time used in those days, you and I ought to be porn stars.”

“We watched plenty of that too. Another education in itself.” The heat woke between them. Kyle’s neck thickened on a heavy swallow. He wrapped a hand around Nate’s prick in a tight grip. “Want to practice for our next close-up?”

He kissed Nate. His mouth, warm and soft, tasted of mint. Nate framed the sides of that strong jaw, feeling it shift under his touch. He pushed back and liked that Kyle subtly strained forward to keep the kiss going. Small challenges. Neither giving ground. Neither wanting it any other way.

“Let’s get out of the shower first.”
