SYNOPSIS

Time might not heal all wounds, but with two motivated and strong-willed men on a campaign to win him back, Charlie will get more than he ever thought possible.
As a teenager, Charlie "Chase" Rhodes meets Scott Boone and falls head over heels in love with the popular, athletic boy next door. Charlie thinks he's living the dream when Scott says he feels the same way. But his dreams are dashed when Scott unexpectedly moves away.
Years later, Charlie meets brash and confident Adan Navarro, who claims all he wants is a round between the sheets. After eight months together, Charlie is convinced Adan returns his love. But when the opportunity comes to be open about their relationship, Adan walks away.
Time passes and life moves on, but when Charlie learns the only two men he's ever loved are now in love with each other, his heart breaks all over again. Scott and Adan tell Charlie they want him back, but Charlie doesn't know if he can trust two people who have hurt him so deeply. Time might not heal all wounds, but with two motivated and strong-willed men on a campaign to win him back, Charlie will get more than he ever thought possible.

What an amazing audiobook book!! Narrator Ezekiel Robinson really brought all these characters to life.
I really liked that each chapter of the book started with a photo entry into Charlie/Chase’s scrapbook of his life.  Scott, the new neighbor, is Charlie’s first love. You follow their relationship from friends, to lovers, to heartbreak. Several years pass while Charlie is following his dreams of becoming a dancer, and he meets the second love, Adan. Again, you get heartbreak with their relationship.
Years pass and Charlie/Chase is able to fulfill his dancing dreams. A horrible accident takes him to Vegas where he is an instant dad to his sister’s two kids. And as fate would have it, one night, waiting on the babysitter in walks not only Scott, but also his partner Adan.
Not many get the opportunity to have their first love walk back into their lives, but Charlie/Chase get the chance to have both of his great loves back.
I have not read many of Cardeno’s books, but those that I have read have always made me feel warm and fuzzy inside and this book is no exception. I can’t wait to read more from her and I hope to even hear more from Ezekiel.

SYNOPSIS

At 14, Andrew Thompson and Caleb Lakes become best friends. As the years pass, they stand by each other through family trauma, school, and the start of their careers. They share their first sexual experiences, learning and experimenting, and they talk each other through countless dates and breakups.
Decades of trust and loyalty build a deep and abiding friendship, one that surpasses any relationship in their lives. But when the parameters of their unique friendship change, neither man knows how to break out of their established roles to build something new. After all, boyfriends come and go, but best friends are forever.

The book is written as a timeline sequence, so each chapter is a new year. Dating back from the 80's and going up through to 2008, plus a bonus chapter that was written after Gay Marriage was legalized throughout the country. ((I like to just think of it as plain ole marriage though! ;) ))

I really liked that she went through the times like she did. It made me have a few flashbacks when the boys were discussing music and the way they would talk, using that era's lingo. It had me giggling a bit, along with Caleb, who would make fun of Drew for it.

These 2 guys have been friends forever, and have done ALL of their firsts together, With school and distance in their way, it just never was in their cards to be a couple. Their phone conversations were often funny and I love how the narrator impersonated being on the phone. The first time it freaked me out until I figured out what it was LOL!

Caleb and Drew have gone through A LOT together. Family drama, boyfriend drama, work drama, you name it. Their friendship was always rock solid though. This is where I had love/hate. I loved the slow burn of it. Not the sex, but the actual love. I think because it took them so long to realize their true feelings it made the situation very emotional and their relationship so much stronger. At the same rate, I wanted to bonk their heads together and say "GET WITH IT ALREADY, YOU'RE IN LOVE!!!" But, they had to get their on their own. It was a bit heartbreaking there for awhile, especially after Drew's last BF.

Once they finally talk and get on the same page though, it really is a beautiful thing. I loved their characters apart and together. Caleb was like an undercover freak, so to say. He was always so neat and put together, but underneath with his little jock fetish, was pretty fricken HOT!! Andrew was more "wear my feelings on the outside". Every time he felt crappy about himself after a bad breakup or his parents being "icky", he would go get something physically done to himself. Whether it be a tattoo or a piercing. I can relate to Drew the most, as I am the same way. What is funny about him though is, he now doesn't look like your average Doctor, and I think that's just fabulous. So they aren't your standard characters, but they are someone you may know and love as well.

The narrator was fan-freaking-tastic. I really thought he did a great job. I would most certainly listen to more of  his audios in this genre.

all in all, I give it 4.25 Friends to Lovers Stars
